Everyone has been pretty busy the last couple of weeks. Mason had two or three birthday parties for starters. He was turning two, but Heidi and Jason’s parents were both going to be out of town.
So Heidi’s family came up on a couple different days to give Mason presents. He had a good time. He was very excited to get new presents, and so was Whitney.
On his actual birthday, Mason had a good time. Caleb, Abby, ‘Fef’ and everyone else came up and had a good time. Mason got the Lion King video, and loved it.
In addition, Abby’s school had a Halloween fund raiser-carnival. Whitney dressed as a fairy and was very cute. Mason was a lion, and everyone stopped to see how cute he was. He had a yellow face and funny whiskers. There should be pictures soon.
Whitney is also learning to read. She has a long list of words she can sound out and put together in sentences. She enjoys doing it, too, for the most part.
It was also Jason and Heidi’s anniversary. On the actual day, they didn’t do too much because it was on a Sunday and all the usual baby sitters were occupied.
But the day after they went to Lava for two days and had a nice time. Jenny and Steve watched the kids.
The video sections for Whitney and Mason have also been updated with new videos.
October 12-October 29, 2003
Fall has come to Eastern Idaho and just about everyone is glad. Whitney is enjoying preschool, and Mason is growing and learning a lot. He just learned to open doors by his “felf” and is very proud of himself.
Whitney is working on becoming as polite as she possibly can. She is learning all sorts of songs and things at preschool. She drew the following picture
to show how the world was created.
The family hasn’t been too busy lately, although they did spend a weekend out in Springfield. Jason had to change the spark plug wires on the Park Avenue so they went out there to do it and relax.
Heidi went down to a wedding in Sundance, Utah. So Jason had the kids for a while but everyone survived. She also took the kids down to Pocatello for a while because Jason was busy at work.
He went to Salmon and Challis for two days, and spend the night in Challis. There was a lot of traveling, but he did accomplish quite a bit.
Other than that, everyone is doing fine. Mason is growing; he is talking a lot. He got panicked the other day when he saw a little boy dressed as Batman and was so scared he had to hide in the car. Halloween should be interesting. He isn’t sure what is he going to be.
Whitney wanted to be a polar bear, despite Jason’s urging to be a panda bear. Now she wants to be a fairy and Mason will probably be a “li-lon” (lion). Just so long as he doesn’t see himself in the mirror.
September 23-October 12, 2003
Now that the Bohrer’s have the Internet again it is a lot easier to update the website. We’ll see if Jason can keep up the work. See the new video of Whitney here.
The family got to take a few vacation days and do some fun stuff. Jason took a Thursday and Friday off work for a camping trip.
They went to Craters of the Moon, which is perfect this time of year. The wind did blow a little, but the temperature was perfect.
They found a good little spot and Whitney explored the rocks quite a bit. There were ‘underground squirrels’ to watch out the trailer window, too. The caves were a lot of fun though. Mason wasn’t too scared in the caves, although he wasn’t too thrilled either. Whitney loved the caves and even found a couple small caves on her own.
Everyone also got to explore the many good hiking trails in the area. Whitney did a pretty good job hiking. The funniest part was when the moon came out at night and Mason was scared to death of it. The next day he kept hiding under the covers, worried about the moon.
Mason did try to sneak one past Jason, though. When Jason caught Mason doing something that Heidi doesn’t let him do, he looked around and said, “not home” to tell Jason that Heidi wasn’t home, so all the rules could be broken.
Finally, Whitney was in the Sunday School program. She had a part, which neither Jason nor Heidi knew about. But she did it anyway. She said God had, “given her an earthly home, with parents kind as deer.” She really did a good job though. Then on the way home she wanted Heidi to read her a book that wasn’t very long because it didn’t have very many calories.
August 24-September 7, 2003
The summer has almost passed, with not too many updates. Maybe now that things are settling down, Jason can update more often.
Everyone has been doing fine. Everyone went to the fair on Thursday, and Whitney got to ride all the rides she wanted. She did pretty good, and didn’t get scared. Mason had a good time too, although he didn’t ride any rides.
The family also went camping in Aberdeen. Jason and Heidi and their family got out their big tent, while Herb and Linda got the trailer. The big event was ther “acoon” as Mason called the racoon who thought he would sit down at the table. Three more came at night to check out the garbage cans.
Mason also had an eventful night when he suddenly got sick. He got taken to the hospital and hooked up to some fluids. He’s fine now, but he still talks about “bomit” and says, “Blahh” pretending to throw-up.
When he was sick, Whitney got out her toy stethescope and put it on Mason’s stomach. “Yep”, she said, “Just what I thought. There’s too much food in there.”
Heidi and the kids did get to go on a vacation, they spent a week up in Washington with Heidi’s sister Amy. They all had a fun time, but it is kind of a long ride.
Work has been going good for Jason. He is liking his job and is staying very busy.
June 2-August 23, 2003
Everyone has managed to keep pretty busy over the last month. The big news was everyone went on a big vacation to the Black Hills.
The drive was kind of long, but they made it over a few days and the kids got to watch videos along the way.
Whitney was very excited to go to the “crooked house” (Cosmos Mystery Area) and the “lizard museum” (The Reptile Gardens). She had a very good time. She got to pet the snake at the Reptile Gardens. She also wobbled around after going to Cosmos. They also spent some time at the Custer Battlefield on the way there. It was a nice stop and the kids got to play a little. Whitney like the museum displays.
Heidi wasn’t too impressed with Sturgis, as it really is kind of anti-climactic during the off-season. (Non-motorcycle season).
Everyone had a good time at Mt. Rushmore, too. It was the first time Heidi had ever been there, and the kids liked it was well. They wanted ice cream, but that took forever to get it.
The nicest thing for the kids about the trip was that both hotels had swimming pools. Mason and Whitney both like swimming. Whitney went down the slide a few times but eventually hit her head so she quit doing that. She also got dunked every time; at first she didn’t care but it did start bothering her.
On the way home, the family stopped at Devil’s Tower for a few hours. There were lots of trails there and also prairie dogs to chase.
Jason will try to have pictures of the vacation up some time, but for now he has posted a new video in Mason’s Video Section. There are also some new pictures of Whitney.

April 20-May 3, 2003
It has been a while since the site was last updated. Everyone has been doing pretty good. Jason has still been working for the legislature, although that will end shortly. Heidi has been doing fine, keeping the kids under control. Whitney and Mason have been busy, too.
Easter came and went. Herb and Linda came up, and that was a lot of fun. Whitney has been dying to go to Chucky Cheese, so everyone went there and she had a good time. They also took everyone to the Zoo.
Whitney likes the Zoo, but Mason really loved it this time. He played with Grandpa Herb the whole time, and yelled at the animals, showed them to everyone and in general was excited to see all the new animals.
On Easter, the kids came home from Church and the Easter bunny had hidden eggs all over the place. They were very surprised.
Also, the wildlife around home has become more active. There are three ducks that have become quite friendly, and Mason and Whitney love to feed them. One of them bit Mason, but he didn’t mind. It must not have hurt. Mason and Whitney will take the old bread out to feed them, but as often as not Mason and Whitney also eat the old bread, so they have to be watched carefully.
Because there are three ducks that hang out together, and two of them are male mallard ducks with green heads, Whitney calls them the “three headed ducks”.
Mason’s desire to throw stuff into the lake did get him into a little trouble the other day, though. As he was trying to pick up a rock to throw in the lake, he tumbled over head first and fell right into the lake. Luckily Heidi was there to fish him out.
Whitney has been riding her bike a lot. She finally figured out how to make it go, and now can’t get enough.
There haven’t been any new video or picture updates lately, but Jason will try to get some more soon.
April 10-April 19, 2003
The past few days have been pretty eventful. After the big hoopla for Whitney’s birthday, things kind of settled down. Jason did manage to update Mason’s picture page as well as Whitney’s video page.
Heidi had her 30th birthday, and so her and Jason went out for the evening. Whitney and Mason went to some friends’ house and had a good time.
But the most eventful time was the weekend, when the family packed up and headed east, back to the ancestral homes in Pocatello and Springfield.
On Friday night, everyone went to Hubbard’s and had another birthday party for Whitney. Then they packed up and went out to the Bohrer’s.
There, Jason’s aunt Nancy and her granddaughter Mary were waiting. They haven’t seen Mason and Whitney for a year but they hit it right off again.
On Saturday, Whitney and Mary played almost all day long, non stop. They played inside and outside. The weather was not very good; it even snowed. But that just spurred Nancy into taking them for a ride on the Mule.
Even Mason had fun. Someone had brought these huge balloons, and he loved chasing them around and kicking them. He and Whitney had fun teasing Grandma Linda with spiders and snakes. Whitney even got to have a ’sleepover’ with Mary, on the living room floor. Nancy told them stories to get them to sleep.
Sunday, Whitney played some more with Mary and Mason got to play outside some too. He of course played with the cats and dogs but mostly he ran up and down Grandma Linda’s ramp on to the deck. He loved that.
Finally, Abby, Caleb and Seth all came out along with Steve and Jenny. Then the annual Easter Egg hunt started, with plenty of eggs to go around. Someone even taped an egg to Clyde, who loved the attention. Everyone had a pretty fun time.
I’m still kind of tweaking this site now again, and receiving valuable feedback. So if you have problems, let me know by filling out the survey.
April 1-April 10, 2003
The Bohrer family has been enjoying the nice weather in Boise. Whitney just had her 4th birthday and loved it. She just kept running around saying, “This is the best party I’ve ever seen.” She really had a good time and got a lot of fun presents. They are all pretty quiet, so that is a plus too.
Whitney had a lot of fun for her birthday; this year she had a butterfly cake. While nothing will ever top last year’s watermelon cake, Whitney did have fun making this one.
Heidi’s family came up for a baseball game and Whitney’s birthday party and Mason had fun playing with Jamie and Jamie’s baby. They chased each other around and had a good time.
Whitney went back to preschool and learned about April Fools Day. She told Heidi there was a spider on her head, and then said, “Happy April’s Dead Day!” She said the same thing after telling Heidi it was snowing outside.
The weather is starting to get very nice in Boise. Mason, Whitney and Jason were able to go for a walk the other night. Mason saw a dog and about fell out of his stroller he was so excited. He kept yelling at it and pointing at it. Finally the lady came over and let him pet it.
Mason likes other animals, too. He can say the names of several animals, and everytime he goes outsite he says “duck” and looks for the ducks. He gets to feed them every once in a while and loves it.
Jason actually found someone who could fix the video camera, so there have been a couple video’s added to Mason’s and Whitney’s video pages.
Mason got kind of sick for a while, but seems to be over it and is doing fine. He is finally gotten big enough that he can’t run right under the table. He used to be able to do it without any problems, then he had to duck a little, but now he just bonks his head even when he ducks.
Again, since the site is so new, if you have any serious problems, fill out the survey and tell Jason what is wrong. It might get fixed that way.
February 4-April 1, 2003
Well, as you can see the big project for the website has been a complete redesign. Heidi and the kids went to Washington to stay with Heidi’s sister Amy so Jason used the time to redesign the webiste.
Some of you may notice the fonts are a little weird and some things look just a tad bit off, this will most likely affect people using older browsers.
The Bohrer’s have been pretty busy. Jason has been very busy at work, with the legislature getting antsy to get out of town he has been working longer hours. Heidi has been busy with Mason and Whitney.
Mason has been doing fine. He is really getting around now and runs all over the place. He got these little rubber snakes that stick to the wall and ceiling. Whitney will take them and throw them up where they stick to the ceiling so Heidi has to get them down.
Because the ceiling is so tall, Heidi has to get the broom and sweep the snakes down. So then Mason will grab a snake, thow it on to the wall about six inches above the carpet and run off to the kitchen to get the broom. Then he tries to coordinate himself enough that he can sweep the snakes off the wall. I don’t know why he doesn’t just reach out and grab them.
Anyway, that is the type of thing that would be funny to video tape and post to the website, but thanks to Mason the video recorder is broken.
He pulled it off the counter and it landed on his head. He didn’t even cry but it sure did break the camcorder. So it got sent to get repaired and when it got back they said the part it needed wasn’t made anymore.
Whitney has been going to preschool and having a good time. She is learning her letters and how they make sounds and is starting to grasp the concept of phonics.
Everyone went back to Pocatello and Springfield a couple weeks ago for the Republican Lincoln Day fundraisers. Whitney and Mason had a good time playing at their grandparents’s houses.
Since the site is so new, if you have any serious problems, fill out the survey and tell Jason what is wrong. It might get fixed that way.
January 11-February 4, 2003
The last month has been pretty eventful. After the Inaugural Gala, things settled down at work for Jason for a while.
Heidi has been busy with Mason and Whitney. She has also been working out lately to stay in shape.
Jason’s friends’ dad Howard Beck died suddenly, so the family went back to Springfield for the funeral activities.
Since the funeral was on a Saturday, they went home Friday night and stayed all weekend. Jason even got to take a day off work on that Monday to stay home.
While they were there, the kids had a good time playing with Grandpa Herb’s animals and riding his tractor. Jason even added a few pictures of this event to the various picture sections in this website.
On Sunday, the family got to go to Idaho Falls and visit with Jason’s brother Steve and his family. Whitney and Mason had a lot of fun playing with Abby, Caleb and Seth.
After they returned, Jason started a new aspect of his job. He is now does media services for the Idaho Senate Republican Caucus, so he spends most of his time over at the Statehouse.
Mason and Whitney are doing fine, for the time being they both are healthy. Mason is really starting to talk a lot. He can say a lot of words now. Whitney, whenever she wants Jason to look at Mason, will say to him, “Dadu, look at your son.”
What’s New December 27-January 11, 2003
Now that the Christmas season has passed, the Bohrer’s have stayed pretty busy. They didn’t do anything real exciting for New Years, the just stayed at home.
Mason was kind of sick again, so he had to go back to the doctor. He had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. He seems to be over it now, so that is good news.
Meanwhile, Jason has been busy at work. He and the rest of the GOP team were busy planning the Inaugural Gala and State Central Committee Meeting.
The meetings and party were on January 11, and they came off without a hitch. There were a lot of people at both events, and everyone had a good time.
The Inaugural Gala turned out to be pretty big, there were about 800 people there. It was a good party, even though it was a long time in the making.
Whitney is still able to put herself to sleep at nights, so Jason is happy that he doesn’t have to lay down beside her every night until she falls asleep.
She has been pretty funny lately. The other day, after she fell asleep and Jason was putting her into her own bed, something startled her and she jumped in her sleep. A few days later, she said to Jason, “Remember the other night, when I was falling, and you caught me? Thanks for catching me, Dadu.”
Plus, one day everyone was eating ice cream and Jason needed a spoon. She went into the kitchen and said, “Don’t worry Dadu, I will get you a tiny spoon for you to use.” Then she came into the living room with a big grin on her face and something hidden behind her back. It was the biggest serving spoon in the house, and she thought it was a pretty funny joke. She also thinks it is funny, before she falls asleep, to hide under the laundry basket or a blanket and crawl out into the living room. Finally she makes herself a “cave” out of pillows and goes to sleep.
What’s New November 27-December 27, 2002
The past month went pretty quickly. Thanksgiving was spent in Pocatello with Heidi’s family and everyone had a good time.
After Thanksgiving, everyone went back to Boise. Grandpa Herb and Grandma Linda came up to visit and everyone went out to eat, and that was fun.
Jason got tickets to the Neil Diamond concert so he and Heidi went to that. It was good, but the traffic was pretty bad going in to Nampa so they were a little late.
Since Heidi’s sister Emily was getting married, Heidi went to work baking bread for the wedding. She baked about a million loaves of all sorts of bread. They all turned out good, too.
The wedding went well, but during the wedding we got the bad news that Whitney’s dog Sid died. The cause of death was unknown, but apparently it was vehicular manslaughter.
The dollhouse turned out very good. See the baby room, the bath room, the master bed room, the dining room, the kids room, the kitchen, the living room, the the whole house.
Whitney took the news very well; it probably helped that Sid hasn’t lived with us for a while.
Their first day back from Pocatello, Mason got very sick and had to go to the hospital. He stayed overnight and the doctors still don’t know exactly what happened. They think it was some kind of virus.
For Christmas, Whitney got a dollhouse, just like she wanted. Mason got a noisy truck dashboard and a car garage. But both kids got a bunch of little plastic animals that get played with more than anything.
What’s New November 14-November 27, 2002
Things have been pretty average at the Bohrer house lately. Most everyone has been sick, but they are getting better. Whitney had a cough for a long time but the good news is she learned to take medicine without throwing a fit.
Mason has been doing good too. He is learning to talk. He knows how to say pickle, pop. Barbie, Mom, bird, and some other words.
Whitney, on the other hand, is learning to spell. She is very proud of herself because she can spell lots of words. She has also perfected reading Pig, Pigger, Piggest.
Work has been going fine for Jason. It is not so busy, but he is still finding plenty of things to keep busy with.
Jason is working on video again, and has a good video of
Mason crawling.
The other day Jason and Heidi went to a Joe Satriani concert. It was a lot of fun, but it was when Heidi was sick so she could have enjoyed it more.
Whitney has been saying some funny things. She saw on TV a spaceship and asked, “Where are they going in abber-space?” And the other day she was talking to Pit, her imaginary friend, and yelled, “Stop, I’m an officer of the law!” No one knows where she got that one.
She has been enjoying preschool. She gets to do a lot of fun things there.
What’s New Aug 14-Aug 28, 2002
Well, the election is over and Republicans across the state pretty much emerged victorious.
Governor Kempthorne, Senator Craig and all the rest of the ticket won handily, the exception being Tom Luna, who lost a tight race.
Jason is now able to start working normal hours again. The weeks before the election were very hectic.
In the meantime, Jason and Heidi sold their house in Ririe. They moved into an apartment in Boise and are enjoying being together again. Whitney likes the apartment because it has a theater, hot tub and swimming pool.
Before it got cold, Whitney and Mason like to go swimming. Whitney got very brave and floated around with no help, other than her water wings.
Jason also just added some new pictures to the pciture section of almost everybody, so check them out.
Mason started crawling, or scooting. He doesn’t really crawl, he scoots but does it just as quickly as a crawl. He could probably walk if he wanted to, but is too scared. He has started to say Momma and a few other words.
We had a big birthday party for Mason and he had a good time. Whitney made him a monster cake, but he didn’t want to eat it. He played with the frosting for a little bit, then got bored.
Whitney has been learning to write her name. She can write her name and also Mom. She can also spell Dadu, Mason and Sid.
She has also learned to read. At least she can recite from memory her two favorite books, Pig, Pigger and Piggest and If You Give A Pig A Pancake.
What’s New Aug 14-Aug 28, 2002
The last few weeks have been very busy. Jason has been working in Boise but last week was able to work in Idaho Falls.
Jason talked his old employer, Harris Publishing into providing him with an office to use while in Eastern Idaho. Jason then was able to work from the road while he kept in touch with Eastern Idaho Republicans.
During the week that Jason was in Eastern Idaho, the family went to several events. On Monday, they all went to Oneida County for the Republican Party picnic. It turned out well and everyone had a pretty good time. Whitney played on the merry go round and Mason played in the sand.
Heidi and Jason also went to the Bannock County Barbeque and had a good time there. Neal was there so they sat by him. Almost all the candidates were there and it was fun.
On Thursday, Jason, Heidi and Mason went to the Region VII Barbeque. It was bery good, as usual. They went with Jason’s parents.
Heidi’s brother Clayton is going to go to Albertson College in Caldwell so they all came up for his registration.
While everyone was in Boise, Mason decided to start eating. He all of a sudden began to eat macaroni and cheese, cereal and other foods.
Whitney, on the other hand, started to watch Men in Black and now it is her favorite movie. She watched it about five times in the trailer.
Speaking of movies, everyone went to watch Scooby Doo at the movie theater. Whitney thought it was a pretty good movie, but it was a little scary for her.
What’s New July 26-Aug 14, 2002
The last few weeks have been pretty ordinary. Jason has just kept working and Heidi has been with the kids.
Heidi’s brother Clayton went to the state baseball playoffs in Lewiston, so Heidi and the kids went up there to watch him play.
After the games were done, everyone went up to Heidi’s sister Amy’s house for a week. Everyone had a good time there. Whitney got to go swimming and had fun.
While Heidi was gone, Jason mostly just worked on the house and hung out with Neal and Jared. He went to Logan with Neal one night and hung out at Jared’s another.
Jason did go to the Duck Race in Idaho Falls and that turned out OK, except for the ducks all floated away and the course imploded on itself. He left before they declared a winner.
Mason has been doing fine. He hates to be on his stomach so he doesn’t want to learn to crawl. He just sits on his butt and spins around so he can always be facing the action.
Jason’s brother Dan moved to Minnesota last week. He got a job working for Schwan’s as an accountant.
Overall, it has been a slow couple of weeks. Maybe there will be some new pictures soon.
Jason has been trying to clean up the website a litle, so if you notice any problems be sure to let him know.
What’s New July 13-July 25, 2002
The last few weeks have been pretty busy. Jason’s birthday came and went and everyone enjoyed that. Everyone came over to the Hubbards and had a good time.
Jason has been busy at work but has been able to go home on the weekends, so that has been nice.
On the 20th, there was a big parade in Pocatello, so the family went to it. The Governor was there, and Whitney got to grab a bunch of candy at the parade so everyone had a good time.
The family went out to Springfield to take family pictures and that was fun. Since Dan is moving to Minnesota they won’t get that chance for a while. But the pictures went well and everyone laughed about the bad family pictures in the Bohrer family history.
Whitney also got to see some porcupine quills. Clyde found a porcupine and it got him in the nose. So now Whitney knows what they do.
Whitney also got to play with Caled and Abby this week. She got to go up to their house one day and then, they went to see her once also. She really likes playing with the kids.
Whitney also has been swimming in her swimming pool a lot. She accidently got tricked into jumping into her pool at Grandpa Herbs and dunked herself, but she quickly recovered. But the swimming pool got popped, so now Heidi has to fix it.
Mason has been doing good. He has slept through the night a few times and seems to be sleeping a little better. With any luck it will hold, and he will start not just sleeping but also eating better.
This week Jason didn’t add any new pictures, but he changed the home page a little to have two pictures showing on the left. He also changed the style sheet a little. If you notice any problems, use the feedback link on the left.
What’s New July 3-July 12, 2002
At least it didn’t take an entire month to update the site this time.
The big Fourth of July celebration was last week, and everyone was busy for that.
Heidi, Whitney and Mason went to a parade in Pocatello and had a good time. There wasn’t a lot of candy for Whitney, though. Jason went to the Idaho Falls parade to help the Governor’s campaign. He was pretty busy afterwards, also, attending the picnic in Rexburg for the Governor as well.
For the fireworks, the whole family went back to Idaho Falls. First, they listened to Dirk speak and then they all watched the fireworks. Whitney really like them this year and told everyone that she wasn’t scared. Even Mason liked them.
The family also went out to Springfield for a couple days. Whitney got to go swimming and canoeing and play outside.
Whitney also likes to go skunk hunting, (to see them, not actually hunt them) so one night they all went out in the van. At first, they didn’t see anything. Finally, they saw a baby skunk that didn’t get very spooked. Whitney liked looking at it and she thought it was cute.
Then, on the way home, there was a porcupine in the road. Whitney wanted to see the “korky-pine” so her and Jason got out of the van and tried to throw a cracker to it. It didn’t eat it, but Whitney got to see how porcupines walk. “The wobble.”
The next morning at about 9:00 the dogs started barking at something. Jason went out to see what it was and it was another skunk. So he went downstairs and woke Whiney up. She got to see it and smell it, because it sprayed one of the cats.
This week Jason only added three new pictures, one of Mason, one of Whitney and the skunk picture above.
What’s New June 4-July 2, 2002
Well, June went by also without much activity. Jason would like to update the site more often, but hasn’t been able to.
Everyone has been doing pretty good. Heidi’s foot is beginning to heal and is almost better. It still hurts a little bit, but she doesn’t need to use crutches anymore.
Jason has stayed busy at work. He went to the Idaho Republican Convention and had a good time there. It went pretty smoothly, and there weren’t any big controversies.
Heidi, Whitney and Mason went to visit Heidi’s sister Amy in Washington. They had a pretty good time there. They all went swimming a few times, but Whitney accidently got dunked so still blames that on Heidi.
Mason is doing pretty good. He can now pull himself up on things and is very proud of himself. He smiles a lot but still thinks he needs his mommy all night long. He is getting another tooth; he has four now.
Whitney hasn’t watched too much T.V. lately, but there is a show called “Courage the Cowardly Dog.” One night Whitney asked if she could watch “Courage the Stupid Damn Dog.”
Whitney also was funny one morning when Heidi tried to wake her up at 10:30. She rolled over and said, “I’m so tired. I need to sleep for just five more minutes.”
On Sunday, everyone went out to Springfield. When Whitney saw the treehouse that is being built, she said, “Oh my gosh!” and couldn’t believe how big it was. She was pretty excited to climb up in it.
Marty and his wife came over on Saturday. It was good to see them. No one had ever met Marty’s wife before, but she seemed pretty nice. Whitney was shy around them, but after a while she loosened up and showed them how far she could jump.
This week I added quite a few good pictures of Mason and Whitney. This is the best picture of Mason yet.
What’s New April 24-June 4, 2002
The entire month of May passed without an update. Things have been very busy, and that is why this site has been dead.
Jason has been busy with the primary elections, which were on May 29. There were a few surprises, but overall things went well in Idaho.
Heidi, Whitney and Mason have visited a couple times. They all went to see Snow Dogs (Whitney calls it Snow Doggies) and even though the advertising is kind of misleading, it was a decent show. Now Whitney thinks all big dogs are Snow Dogs.
The next time they visited, everyone got to see Ice Age. Everyone but Jason and Mason, that is. Mason cried and cried so Jason just took him for a ride.
Jason and Whitney went swimming at the YMCA and Whitney played on the slides almost the whole time. She had fun, even when she accidently went all the way under water.
Heidi fell down the stairs and broke her foot, so she has been limping around with crutches. Sometimes Whitney pretends she has a broken foot and limps, too.
Heidi has been showing the house (link has been removed) and we have got some interested people, but no buyers yet.
There are some more pictures of Mason and Jason.
What’s New April 3-April 24, 2002
Well, Jason is busy working at his new job. He is very busy and working hard with the candidates.
Heidi has also been very busy. Mason is has two teeth and seems to be getting more. So he has been kind of cranky. He did manage to roll over a few times last week but seems to have lost interest.
Whitney was sick with a virus last week so spent a few days just laying on the couch watching TV. She is better now, and is probably glad the sun has been shining so she can go outside.
Jason has a digital camera now and has taken a few pictues of Mason and Whitney, but hasn’t had time to post them yet. Hopefully soon.
What’s New Feb 20-March 2, 2002
Not much has happened since the last update. Whitney was sick for a day but feels better now. She got to go to the pet story the other day but a ferret bit her finger. She though it was “trying to eat Whitney for unch!”
Mason is starting to grab at toys and try to play with him. He has been pretty happy lately and laughs a lot. He thinks Whitney is very funny when she talks to him in a funny voice.
Jason was busy this past week. He had to go to Island Park and had a Cub Scout meeting. But work hasn’t been terribly busy, so that is OK.
Mason was blessed in Church on Sunday, so there were a lot of people at the house for dinner afterwards. Then, Angie had a hotel room so Whitney got to go swimming. She kept looking around for sharks, though.
Jason decided to leave the movie on the home page for another week or so. Most people seem to be able to view it fine. But if you can’t, E-mail and say what happened. (Movie was removed–Jason) Hover over the screenshot for download time information. When available, movies will be in the picture section, but don’t expect many because this webpage only gives me so much space.
What’s New Feb 14-Feb 19, 2002
Wow, it has only been a few days since the last update. Jason has been able to work a little more than usual on the computer, because Whitney likes to watch movies in the basement these days.
For Valentines Day, Herb and Linda took Whitney and Jason and Heidi went out to eat. Mason of course came along. They went to the Thai House. That is Jason’s favorite restaurant in town.
On Saturday, everyone went to see the new Peter Pan movie. Whitney really loves watching movies at home, to see them in the theater is even better.
When the movie was over, Heidi and Jason were trying to decide where to eat. Whitney said, “Let’s go to the pizza store with the train!” There is a pizza place that has a train on a ledge by the ceiling. Whitney loves to chase it around the restaurant. That is why they have to go late at night.
Mason hasn’t changed a whole lot. He did sleep almost all through the night two nights in a row, though, so Heidi was happy about that.
Whitney has been calling Jason by his first name a lot lately because she thinks it is funny. She also teases Heidi and says, “Dadu is my family,” or “my father,” and then wants Heidi to argue with her and say, “No, he is my husband.”
Finally, Jason put some more pictures of Whitney up. He is working on more for Mason.
Jason did finally get one movie
put together of Mason. When available, movies will be in the picture section, but don’t expect many because this webpage only gives me so much space.
What’s New Jan 27-Feb 13, 2002
The past weeks have gone by quickly for the Bohrers. Jason spent some time in Minnesota, then Island Park and McCall. But his trips are almost over for the year.
Everyone went down to Salt Lake to see one of Heidi’s cousins get married. The next day they went to church with Jason’s brother Dan. Whitney liked seeing her new cousing Hailey.
They also went out to Springfield to see Jason’s Mom and Dad and let Whitney play out there. She loves to play with the Duck game and see the kitties.
Mason is starting to like Whitney and Jason more. He really smiles at Whitney in the morning, when she asks him how he slept and tells him she missed him in the night.
Whitney is also very protective of Mason. She won’t let Jason pretend to sit on Mason because that would squish him.
Whitney found some scissors and cut up her high chair cover this week. She told Heidi she was trying to make it more comfortable.
What’s New Jan 17-Jan 26, 2002
Once again for the past couple of weeks Jason has been very busy with work. He has gone to Minnesota and Island Park to ride snowmobiles.
Heidi has gone to a couple more doctors about her thyroid, and things look to be stabilizing.
Everyone went out to eat with Jason’s brother Steve’s family. Afterward they went to eat some ice cream and Whitney got to play with Caleb.
Mason is doing fine. He just got his RSV shot, so hopefully he won’t get sick. He really likes to be held and gets mad when someone sets him down.
Whitney got to go visit Grandpa Herb on Saturday. She really had fun, although she didn’t get to see Grape. Lately, she has been putting on her “beautiful dresses” and playing in them.
The other day Jason put on Whitney’s lion head hat and scared Whitney in the bath tub. She got very mad and said, “Dadu, I want you to not scare Whitney any more.”
What’s New Jan 2-Jan 16, 2002
The Bohrer’s have been pretty busy lately. Jason went to Wisconsin and then to Minnesota for work. Then he went to Island Park a couple times to ride more.
Jason got to stop in Fargo but couldn’t get in touch with some of his friends. He did get to visit his cousin John and Dawn.
Heidi has been very busy also. She has been going back and forth to the doctors, with appointments and check ups.
Whitney has been wanting to go visit Aunt Amy, and really misses her right now. She loves to play with her Play Doh and make snakes.
Mason is still doing good. He is starting to sleep a little more, but still doesn’t sleep all night long. He is starting to smile a little.
What’s New Dec 19-Jan 2, 2002
Christmas came and passed without much fanfare. Whitney was very excited to get all of her presents, and after Christmas she talked a lot more about Santa Claus and kind of forgot how scary he is.
After Christmas, Jason took Whitney to Monsters, Inc. Whitney really liked it, she wanted to get pop and popcorn in the theater, but said she didn’t want to watch The Grinch. That is the last movie she saw in a theater and it scared her.
Everyone went out to Grandpa Herbs and had a good time there. Whitney got to ride on the sled behind the mule and play with the animals.
For New Years, the Bohrer’s didn’t do much. They just stayed home and watched the celebration on TV, then went to bed.
Mason is doing fine. He now weighs 8 pounds, 7 ounces so is growing fine. He is kind of sick right now so doesn’t sleep very soundly.
What’s New Dec 11-Dec 18, 2001
The past week has been pretty good for the Bohrers. Mason had his second check up visit and now weighs 7 pounds, 5 ounces. He got his first set of shots and did not like them at all.
Jason has been gone snowmobiling but is back in town now also. He took Whitney for a walk with Sid one day and taught her how to eat icicles. In church, she was getting very mad at Jason because he wasn’t eating his sunflower seeds “like a llama.”
Jason got a Christmas tree finally and Whitney and Heidi decorated it. Whitney thinks it is pretty neat and helps water it. She is liking winter, even though she can’t go outside all the time.
Santa Claus is going to have to leave the presents on the front step, because Whitney doesn’t want him to come inside. She is trying to read her books a lot, and does a pretty good job. She just learned the word embarrassed so uses it a lot.
What’s New Dec 7-Dec 10, 2001
Mason is getting used to being home, and everyone is getting used to him as well. He has been going for about four hours at night in between feedings, so Jason and Heidi are able to sleep a little.
Since Amy was in town, everyone went to Pocatello this past weekend to celebrate Christmas since the whole Hubbard family was available. Jason and Whitney went over to Jared Becks house so Whitney could play with his kids.
It has been snowing almost non stop for the past couple of weeks. The snowmobiling should be good, but Jason has only gone one time for work.
Whitney has been reading books to Sid and Mason, and washing her new dolls in the bathroom sink. Her Grandpa Herb bought her some little juice things at Sam’s Club and she likes to drink one of every color at the same time.
What’s New Nov 27-Dec 6, 2001
Mason has been home for three weeks now and is getting chubby at last. He is really doing fine and is eating a lot and sleeping pretty good. Everyone else is doing fine, also.
Jason was supposed to go to Utah this week for work but was sick on the day he was supposed to leave so he couldn’t go. On his day off he scanned in and posted some pictures of Mason. and did some more updates on the Web site.
Heidi’s sister Amy has been in Ririe most of the week helping out Heidi with the kids. Whitney likes having the extra attention, too.
Speaking of Whitney, she was eating dinner and saw Mason’s ultrasound pictures on the fridge and said to Jason, “Mason was in Mommy’s tummy saying, ‘Where’s my milk!’ then he was saying, ‘I’m too hot, I’m too hot, I’m too hot,’ so he came out.
In other news, Jason finished redesigning the entire website. It should make updating it easier. He has also been scanning in a lot of pictures for future use.
What’s New Oct 22-Nov 26, 2001
The past month has been very eventful for the Bohrer family. First of all, Heidi had their new baby several weeks early.

This is the story of how it happened. Jason had an appointment on October 24 to have some minor surgery. So Heidi made an appointment that same day to get a check up.
When Jason was having his surgery, Heidi found out that the baby was not growing inside her anymore. The baby was 34 weeks along but it had grown only to the size, on average, of a 31 week old baby. Some parts were even smaller.
While performing more tests, the doctors found out that the baby’s heart was also not beating very fast, and sometimes it would drop to dangerous levels. At about 11:30 PM on October 24, the doctors decided to put Heidi into labor.
During this time, the baby’s heart rate continued to drop so at about 1:30 am October 25, the doctors did a C-section and got the baby out. The new baby boy weighed 3 pounds, 13 ounces.
Luckily, Neal Mason (named after Neal Larson in accordance with the fifth grade agreement) was pretty well developed and didn’t need oxygen or anything like that. He stayed in intensive care for three weeks exactly, during which time he had a minor infection and learned to eat.

After those three weeks, Mason got to come home and since then has done well, gaining weight and eating a lot.
Whitney really loves her new brother and tries to help out all the time by feeding him or trying to hold him. She knows not to feed him chocolate milk because he just likes “regular milk.” To keep her busy we added some fine films to our collection, notably “Buzz Light Two”, AKA Toy Story Two and Mulan.
Now that the commotion has died down, Jason hopes to be able to update the page better, adding a separate page for Mason.
Jason also would like to recommend the following page, USAFIdaho.com, personal home page of Jason’s good friend, Marty Jackson.

What’s New Oct 8-Oct 15, 2001
It was a very eventful week for the Bohrer’s and their kin. First of all, on Friday Jason took the day off so they could go to the zoo. His parents went also. Whitney really loved the zoo, especially the giraffes.
But there were a million monkeys, more than Jason and Heidi remembered being there before. But it wasn’t crowded, the weather was fine and everyone had a good time. Whitney did get a little scared when the tiger started growling, and she made sure to keep Jason and Heidi away from the cages.
The day before that, Heidi’s dad Allan got laid off from Astaris/FMC so that was a shocking development. He is going to try to find a new job, so on Sunday the Bohrer’s went to Pocatello and Jason helped Allan with his resume.
They also celebrated a couple of birthdays and had some cake and ice cream at both sets of in-laws houses.
The Internet is up and running again at the Bohrer’s, but it will be a while before Jason figures out the intricasies of getting video up on this site. But he should post some new pictures soon.
On Sunday, when everyone came home, Sid was in the house playing with Whitney. She took him in the bathroom and it was completely silent for a several minutes. Then she let Sid out and he had hair barettes in his fur and shampoo all over him. So he had to take a bath.
Whitney also was trying to get out of going to her own bed one night the past week and when Jason tried to pick her up, she looked at him and said, “Back off, boy!”
Finally, the poll won’t be changed again this week. It seems there has been an error on the IE redirect that was not allowing people through, so I’ll let it stand again.
What’s New Sep 24-Oct 8, 2001
The last two weeks have been very busy for the Bohrers, in particular for Jason, and that is why this page missed its weekly update.
Last week everyone at Jason’s work was gone so he had to do a bunch of stuff. On Wednesday, he and Heidi went down to Salk Lake to do a story for the Lighting magazine. They were supposed to pick out pictures and go through the biggest house ever built in Utah.
The house was huge, 40,000 square feet and like something out of a movie. It had 18 central air conditioning units just to keep the place climate controlled. As nice as it was, Jason and Heidi both agreed they probably wouldn’t want to live there. Jason said he would be too cheap, knowing that he was paying to run so many air conditioners.
The Bohrers also went to the Pocatello-Highland football game. Pocatello had one good drive and that was it. Another miserable defeat. Heidi is finding out what Jason had to go through in Aberdeen with bad football teams.
The Bohrers got a camcorder last week too. So sometime there will be some short video clips uploaded. They got to test it out at Gramdpa Herb’s house when Whitney got to play with Grape.
Speaking of Whitney, she pretends to have a baby in her toes. She figures that since Heidi can have a baby in her stomach, she should be able to have one in her toes. She will say, “He’s kicking me like crazy!”
Finally, the poll won’t be changed again this week. It takes a couple extra minutes and Jason doesn’t have the time. Besides, only two people have voted.
What’s New Sep 17-Sep 23, 2001
It was another so-so week for the Bohrer family. There really wasn’t a whole lot of excitement going on. The only thing they did was to go to Heidi’s brother’s football game in Idaho Falls, which was another defeat.
I did make some updates to the frames based site, which is what most of you probably view. If you notice any errors, use the feedback form to tell me about them.
The neighbor’s dog did have puppies, though, which try to infiltrate the yard. So Jason shoots them with his paintball blow gun. Now there are several puppies running around with paint marks on them. They eat Sid’s food and spill his water so they really do need to be chased away.
When Whitney is getting hungry, sometimes Heidi asks her if she is a “starvin’ Marvin”. So when she was trying to get something to eat and it was past her bed time, she said, “Wait, Mommy, I’m a hungry Marvin.” So she got to stay up a little later.
What’s New Sep 10-Sep 17, 2001
I was driving to work when I heard the news, at about 7:30 in the morning. Like everyone else the rest of the day, I couldn’t get much work done. All day long I just kept looking for more news, Heidi watched the news all day the whole thing was just too hard to believe. It still is.
The bombing seemed to take up most of the week at the Bohrer’s. On Thursday, Heidi and Whitney went to Washington to visit Amy. Emily was supposed to have a soccer game, but it was cancelled. So they just went up there to visit.
Jason went to Logan to take the BMW down to his brother Dan’s house so they could borrow it. Other than that, the weekend was not very eventful. Whitney had strep throat and Jason got a migraine, making Heidi the healthy one of the family for a change.
There was an armed robbery near Ririe, so Jason is trying to leverage that to his advantage so he can get a concealed weapons permit. So far, he is making some progress.
And finally, Whitney loves the song Sweet Soul Sister by The Cult. Every time they get in the pickup she has to listen to it and she sings the chorus. Its especially funny when Heidi puts the station to some weenie-soft favorites station and Whitney says, “No, Mommy, Sweet Soul Sister!”
What’s New Aug 27-Sep 3, 2001
It was another busy week for the Bohrer family. On Thursday, Heidi’s brother Clayton had a football game. He plays for Poky High School. So the Bohrer’s went to the game, but Jason was driving the Tempo and it broke down on him.
To fix that problem, Jason’s dad had to come into Pocatello and trailer the car home. It looks like a bad fuel pump is to blame. But since Heidi, Jason and Whitney were going along with Jason’s dad’s family camping, it caused a small problem.
So on Saturday, everyone went camping near Howe, ID. It was actually called Summit Creek. There is a small hot (warm) pool there, and a little river. It was actually a pretty good place to camp, but it is far away.
Whitney really liked camping. But she probably like getting ready to go camping more, because it meant she got to go to Grandpa Herb’s house and hold the kittens. She also has this weird habit of licking Jason. So when everyone got back from camping, she tried licking his face. Since no one had showered for a couple days, she looked at him and said, “Dadu, you taste yucky.” She also thinks she can go visit her grandparents is she tells Heidi or Jason that they are worried about Whitney. It doesn’t work.
What’s New Aug 18-Aug 26, 2001
The Bohrers spent the last week mostly around their Ririe homestead. On Thursday night, August 23, Heidi and Jason did go to the Region VII Republican picnic. There they met some of the Republican Party leaders and listened to the speeches. The food was good, too, as usual.
On Saturday, the family traveled to Pocatello to watch Heidi’s sister Emily play soccer. She plays for Idaho State. They got their butts whooped by the University of Utah. It wasn’t pretty.
Whitney is starting to think it is her job to answer the phone. Saturday night Jared called and she answered and talked to him for a couple minutes. One night when she came into Jason and Heidi’s bed, Jason tried to move her over to the edge. She likes the middle and won’t move if she is awake. She woke up and said, “No, no Dadu! There’s a Grinch on that side!” And she is scared of Grinches.
What’s New July 22-Aug 6, 2001
The past two weeks have been pretty busy at the Bohrer house, so the weekly update was missed.
Heidi had a minor stroke two weeks ago and had to go to the emergency room and have an MRI. Everything turned out ok and she didn’t even have to spend the night. For those of you wondering how much an MRI costs, its about $1,100.
Jason has also been very busy at work. They are working on several deadlines at once.
Then last weekend, Heidi’s sister Amy came home to visit. So the Bohrers went with Heidi’s family up to Driggs for vacation. They all went over to Jackson to the Bar J. Whitney was scared of the cowboys for a while but then got used to them and had fun.
Whitney, when asked to hug her uncle Jamie, ran away saying, “No, way, Uncle Jamie stinks bad!”
What’s New July 15-July 22, 2001
Well this past week was the big Harris Publishing company picnic. Everyone all went and had a pretty good time.
A small tree fell over in the yard but did no damage. Jason finally mowed the lawn and sprayed some weeds.
Whitney’s quote of the week: When Heidi gave her a glass of non-chocolate milk, Whitney looked at Heidi and said, “Mommy, I hate that stuff.” She is also telling everyone to hang on a second and in nursery decided to “get outta this place.”
What’s New July 9-July 15, 2001
Although it was a big surprise, Jason did get a scanner for his birthday. Jason and Heidi took Whitney over to her cousins to play and went out to celebrate. They had a good time.
In other news, the air conditioner broke in the living room. Good thing it wasn’t so hot this week. Jason and Heidi did clean the cars, and Jason fixed the air conditioner in the pickup.
Probably the funniest thing Whitney said was when she bumped her foot, sat down and started to cry. Then she said, “It’s dying, Dadu.” See the card she made Jason for his birthday.
July 2-July 9, 2001
Well, we had the big Fourth of July this week. It was a lot of fun. We went to the parade in Idaho Falls and found out Whitney is scared to death of clowns. Other than that, the parade was long and boring.
For the fireworks, we went to Rexburg. We went to the rodeo and afterwards watched the display. It was pretty decent, and sure beat fighting the 100,000 people they were supposed to have had in Idaho Falls.
Not so new anymore, but the comment form is still here. No new pictures yet, though. Perhaps a scanner for my birthday…
