It rained here the other day. It also took me about an hour longer than usual to get to work that day. This is a funny state to drive in. It reminds me of this old Dave Barry column I read, where he is talking about his dogs. I can’t find it online anywhere, but part of the joke was that to a dog, every trip out the back door in the morning is a totally new experience. Every morning the dog sees its owner and acts like they haven’t seen each other for years.
That is how it is when it rains out here. Heaven forbid that it snow. Its like these drivers wake up in the morning–keep in mind these are people who drive daily in the nation’s second worst city for traffic–and if it is raining, like Dave Barry’s dogs, they act like they are experiencing it for the first time. “What’s this?” they ask, “Water? On the road? Is it a flood? Wait! Its also falling from the sky! I must exersize caution and drive 20 miles per hour.” And if it snows, they drop down to 10.
Here is just another random picture of Whitney and Mason. They like to take pictures of themselves.
