March 2006

whitneyclimbThis is just a wrap up of various things we’ve been doing. For one, we went to the park a while ago to play Frisbee. Mason throws backwards, but has very good control. I’ve got a video of him I’ll work on next weekend, since I’ll be studying during the week. It’s pretty amazing to watch. masonclimb

They also enjoyed climbing on the toys and just running around in general.

jumpingOne of the funny things I’ve been teasing the kids with lately is pretending to pull things out of their ears, magically. Mason believes I actually do it, but Whitney can see through it and trys to do it right back to me. But we were eating Starbursts at church and I was “pulling” them out of Mason’s ears. When we finally ran out, Mason wanted more and I told him we were out. He just started laughing and said, “Dadu, no we’re not. You just have to pull one out of my ear, that’s all.”

And tonight, he wanted an orange like at 9:30 and we were out. So he just told me not to worry. “Just pull one out of my ear.” I eventually talked him into an apple.
We also cut down some trees in the back yard on Saturday. We piled them all up to get ready to haul them away and Mason said they looked like a beaver house. He wanted to go catch a family of beavers so they could live in it.

Mason has this little stuffed dog that he likes. It didn’t ever have a name until a couple weeks ago, when he named it Black Lack Sack. He must like that name because it rhymes. He also has a stuffed dog named Licker. However, it sounds like “liquor”. So he tells people that he just loves Licker. I’m surprised Health and Welfare hasn’t come yet.

One of the other funny things that Mason does is he “shows” how fast he can run when he is talking on the phone. He’ll be talking to someone and say, “Watch this…I can run fast. And he’ll just start running from one end of the room to the other. See?” he’ll then ask.

The other day Heidi made some cake. I ate almost all of it, of course, but there was two pieces left on Wednesday. Whitney and Mason each got a piece, but Whitney was worried that I wouldn’t get a piece. So Mason cut off a little bit of cake and saved it for me. The day before, he played a trick on me by putting beans on top of my mashed potatoes because he knows I don’t like my food touching.
