Whitney, who loves art, had an art piece (the one with the blue background) selected to be in the Stafford County School Art show. It was a two day long event over at Brooke Point High school, filled with art from kids in the district.
Whitney was very excited about having her picture chosen and wanted to walk through the whole school admiring the artwork. When we finally found her picture it was very pretty. I’m sure you’ll all agree.
They also got to watch a musical number and buy treats from the vending machine, which for some reason was extremely exciting even though we have the same stuff at home…

So Heidi and I went out tonight and went shopping at the mall and other assorted stores. We went into several of the hip and trendy stores, where we were treated to an assortment of male workers who plucked their eyebrows and techno music. Then we walked into a big sporting goods store. Immediately the atmosphere changed, and most refreshing of all was the fact that they were playing Molly Hatchet’s Flirting With Disaster. How can you not love that?
Plus I ate an entire large M&M Blizzard made with chocolate ice cream. They don’t have nutritional information for that particular choice, but a similar item has 1400 calories and 70 grams of fat.

For Whitney’s birthday, she had several parties. This was one of them, when Heidi’s family was here. Anyway, for this birthday party Heidi had made a nice cake for Whitney and
she was going to blow the candles out. She had a good time, but Mason was getting mad everytime we sang Happy Birthday to Whitney because Whitney had everyone say, “Cha cha cha” after every line in Happy Birthday. So that is why there is a scowl on Mason’s face in the picture.

Heidi, Mason, Whitney and Heidi’s family all went to New York and one of the things they saw was this. Hopefully I’ll be able to write more about that trip over the next little while, and post some good pictures, but I though I’d put something new up since it’s been so long.
Mason and Whitney both got Statue of Libery toys, and posed for me, showing how the Statue has her torch up in one hand.
They both had a good time there, although Heidi said it was a little cold. You can see by the kids’ clothing that it was kind of chilly that day.
