It has been the Wild Kingdom around here lately. The kids have had me chasing after all sorts of animals. It started one night when a racoon walked across our back deck. I tried to get the kids to see but it ran off. So they were trying to attract it back by having me leave food out for it, but all that attracked was a possum.

In the meantime, a frog jumped into the sliding door–I got a picture of it but I didn’t get a picture of the bird that tried flying through the door. I thought it was dead and went out to get it and it jumped up and flew off.

Then another frog showed up, and Mason thought it was Lime–the frog we caught last year. He played with it for a while but Whitney was too scared to hold it.

Mason also saw a skink, and it went under the tarp over my motorcycle. When we were looking for it, we saw a huge spider with a bunch of eggs. We looked for the skink but never did find it.

I just hope none of the critters gets inside the house.

Since one of the most visited pages on the old website was the salsa recipe, I thought I would add it to this version of the website as well.  This makes a very hot but good salsa.

Tomatoes. Fresh taste better, but you can also use canned. For this recipe, you’ll need about 3 cups of diced tomatoes. If you are using them from the can, you’ll need to drain off most of the juice. I buy the petite diced tomatoes.

Peppers. I use 7 or 8 habanero peppers. That’s a lot. I also use 8-10 serrano peppers. That’s a lot. (more…)
