signWhitney has talked about running a lemonade stand for a long time. Finally, one day she just made a sign up and asked me if I could help her. Since she had spent so much time on the sign and it looked so nice, and since she asked me so nicely I said yes.

standSo we went out this morning to the grocery store and bought supplies. Kool-Aid, ice and cups. We already had sugar. We got back and Whitney mixed up the drinks and I set up the lemonade stand. Heidi made some cookies as well.

The sale started off well, we were charging 25 cents per glass (and we got the big, 18 ounce glasses) but most people gave us a dollar. I think at the end of the day we had had about 15 customers, and made like $8.50. One kid told us he liked supporting small businesses.

After a couple of hours, Whitney got kind of hot and so we closed up shop, but she took some cookies over to the neighbors house–and didn’t even charge them.
