A couple of weeks ago I was reading on MSNBC.com because a headline had caught me eye. It was about a mysterious limp that suddenly develops in kids and I thought to myself, “That’s totally a Mason affliction…I should bookmark this page.”

Then on Friday Mason woke up unable to walk. He was in too much pain to walk or even sit, so Heidi took him to the doctor. They did all the tests on him for bacteria and fluid on the hip joint and things like that and figured out, through the process of elimination, that Mason had this toxic synovitis.

There really isn’t much that can be done about it, and it clears up on its own after a few days, we just have to keep him doped up on ibuprofen to keep the inflammation down. The link to the full story is here.
