Add yet another creature to the collection of critters we have caught. I have almost quite taking pictures of all the reptiles, bugs and things the kids catch, just cause it isn’t new anymore. So unless it is really funny, I just leave the kids alone with their pets. We usually let them keep their animal friends for the day, cause they do like to play with them. Mason caught a turtle the other day and played with it all day long. Plus they keep catching one of those bright green frogs and play with him, too. Then they caught about 15 baby frogs over the course of two days.
But we finally caught a new species so that is worth a post. (more…)
Whitney has been taking piano lessons for a while here now and really likes it. She had an excellent teacher who makes her play correctly and practice her songs. Whitney has learned a lot, and this was her first recital with this teacher. She played her favorite song, “I Want A Pet” and then she also played a duet.
She has a few more lessons during May, and then most of the summer off.
Mason had another game today. He did really good. His first hit kind of slid off the bottom of the bat, but he still got on base and scored a run. The first time he was in the field, no balls came his way so it was kind of boring. But the second time he got to bat was home run time, since he was the last batter. He hit one of the best balls of the game, and it went clear out into the outfield. So it was a good way to end the inning.
Then when he was in the field someone hit a ball right to him. He was able to stop it, pick up the ball and made a perfect throw to first, where, in what is an uncommon occurrence, the hitter was out. So he was pretty happy with how the game turned out today.
