whitrabbitWhitney and Mason have wanted a pet for a long time. We’ve always said that they can get a dog when Whitney is 10. But she goes through phases when she wants a rabbit, a mouse, or something like that. Mason wants a snake or a lizard.

Whitney must have really been talking about it two weeks ago in church because her teachers made a petition for her that they (and all the other Sunday School class members) signed that said that in their opinion, Whitney should have a pet.

masonrabbitSo yesterday me and the kids were driving through the parking lot and some lady was standing their with a sign that said, “Bunnies, $20″. So I figured that must be a sign. I called Heidi and got her begrudging approval and bought one. Then we went and got a cage and stuff at the pet store.

The kids have really loved it so far. They named her Jellybean and want to hold her and play with her all they time. She has already escaped once, too, cause when we came home from church today she was missing. Luckily, I figured that a rabbit would go to its most natural habitat, so I looked under the Christmas tree and there she was. I’m sure that will not be the last time she escapes, however.
