We have had a Buick Park Avenue for a couple years now. It was Heidi’s car. It is approaching 200,000 miles though, and is not as reliable as it once was. A couple weeks ago, it was doing some weird things and so the mechanic told us it needed a water pump (among other things). $700 later, it was doing the exact same thing. This time, the diagnoses was either something wrong with the intake manifold or a head gasket, or a ruined engine.
Since the mechanic couldn’t actually tell us what the problem was, I told him to not fix it and we would just buy a new car, since any repair bill would exceed the value of the car. So we started looking for a new car, with the only requirement from the kids being that it have a TV (DVD player). That was the last requirement on me and Heidi’s list though, since we had a list of actual, practical considerations.
We finally narrowed it down to a couple makes and models and went looking; the place we found was Lundy’s Inc. right down the road. We got a great deal on a Chrysler Pacifica, and sure enough, it was the Touring edition and included a DVD player. The video is of the kids reaction to the new car.
