Whitney’s art was chosen for the school art show again. This is the third time she has been chosen. Like the othertime we went to the school where the art was displayed and found her art.
This time, she made a picture of a fish. It turned out very nice and we were proud of her.
I just had this picture and thought it was funny. A while ago I came home from school and was ready to eat. Usually I get home at 11, and so everyone is in bed and Heidi leaves a plate of food out for me. This time, however, the kids had prepared the food and these are some of the pancakes they left for me.
There are some very nice bike paths in DC, and if you are ambitious you can actually travel quite a long distance. While not being ambitious, we decided to try it anyway. First, we had to get our bikes up and running. Heidi’s hadn’t been ridden since Whitney fit in the baby seat on the back, so I fixed that and pumped up her tires.
Mason and Whitney’s bikes weren’t in such bad shape, but mine had never actually been ridden by me. I (more…)
Whitney’s class got to dress up for Colonial Days, and they were supposed to make costumes and wear them to school. Heidi made Whitney a very nice costume and she was excited to wear it. She wore it around the house quite a bit because she liked it so much.
Yesterday it was supposed to be a pretty warm day. Friday had been very nice and warm, so we thought we would do something fun. We ended up going to Colonial Beach, which the kids call “Dead Fish Beach” because they saw a dead fish there once. It is fairly close, and usually isn’t too crowded even in the summer. We’ve had a lot of fun there since we first moved out here.
This time, we knew it was going to be too cold to swim so just brought other things. So we played football for a while, and then me and Mason fought with light sabers. Finally we just went walking down the beach and I was pretending to throw the kids in. (more…)
