Mason

christmas 2003I’m cleaning out my old computer and found a bunch of pictures. This particular batch was all organized and just happened to be pictures of our Christmas back in 2003. From the looks of it we spent most of Christmas in Pocatello with Heidi’s family.

There are a bunch of photos following the break. (more…)

One of the things Mason loves is Godzilla. One of the things his Grandma and Grandpa got him and Whitney for Chrismas was a Godzilla game for the Wii. They both like the game, but especially Mason. He plays it all the time. Every morning it is the first thing he wants to do.

Whitney is pretty good too, although she won’t play it for hours on end like Mason. Here is a video of them playing the Godzilla Wii game.

We got over Christmas with no major malfunctions. The kids opened up a present or two on Christmas Eve and then we went over to some friends house. We had a good meal and got back to the house before Santa Claus arrived.

The kids left out some letters for Santa, wanting him to take a picture of himself (Mason) and leave presents for the rabbit (Whitney). The rabbit is now named Sassy, too.

Mason loves pop, and so we try to have root beer around for the holidays. We had some good root beer in bottles for him in the fridge, but he would drink them all in one day if it were up to him. But they are the kind he can’t open, so he (more…)

whitrabbitWhitney and Mason have wanted a pet for a long time. We’ve always said that they can get a dog when Whitney is 10. But she goes through phases when she wants a rabbit, a mouse, or something like that. Mason wants a snake or a lizard.

Whitney must have really been talking about it two weeks ago in church because her teachers made a petition for her that they (and all the other Sunday School class members) signed that said that in their opinion, (more…)

whitneysoccerWhitney and Mason both had their end of year soccer parties a few weeks ago, and they each went somewhere to have pizza. Me and Whitney ended up at one place, and Heidi and Mason at another. This is where Whitney got her trophy. It was pretty big and very impressive.

They had a pretty good time playing soccer this season, although the last games were pretty chilly. There is a pretty big difference in the two teams, though, since in Whitney’s league the field is a lot bigger and there are goalies. Mason’s field is about the size of a basketball field and there are no goalies, so there is usually quite a bit more scoring in that league.

panoramic shotWe went to Idaho for Thanksgiving this year, which we haven’t done since we’ve been living in Virginia. We had a pretty good time and the kids got to see some snow.

We flew into Salt Lake and spent the first night and Dan and Amy’s new house (and the last night there as well.) Then we headed up to Pocatello to eat dinner with Heidi’s family before going out to Springfield.

Mason’s one request was to go to Craters of the Moon, and so we took a day and did that. The kids also make gingerbread houses, played some video games and some other fun things.

I took my (more…)
