Trip to the MuseumAnother day that Dan and Amy were here we went to the Museum of Natural History and the Air and Space Museum. These museums can be a lot of fun when they aren’t crowded, the Air and Space one has a fair number of cool things for the kids to do, and we hoped that being on a weekday when school was still in session that it wouldn’t be crowded, but they both were pretty busy. Plus, they were filming “Night at the Museum Two” in the Air and Space museum, so a lot of the fun exhibits were closed off, and we only got to see a bunch of extras, which I took a picture of.

As usual, the highlight of the day was a trip to the gift shop, where we paid five dollars for a bag of rocks. That’s right, a bag of rocks. They are (more…)

Dan and Amy were able to come out here for a few days, so we made some plans to do a couple fun things. They flew in Saturday night, so we just hung out on Sunday and tried to catch some lizards, with no luck (due to unfavorable weather conditions). However, they did find a lake and amused themselves by throwing sticks into it until it started raining on us.

On Monday we went to the Zoo, and had a really good day. The weather was perfect, and the animals were mostly out and about.

Whitney made it a point to show us the flamingos and the sea lions. One of the gorillas didn’t like people very much, and when Dan was looking at it it ran up to the glass and started pounding on it, right in front of him. It did the same thing to another person, too.

We got ice cream and were pretty tired out by the time the day was over. There are quite a few pictures after the break. (more…)

Whitney had a Mothers Day Piano Recital. She has been practicing for quite a while and did another good job. This one was held at a church here in Stafford.

Me and Whitney went to a Girl Scout Father Daughter date last week. It was pretty fun. We went miniature golfing. The only trouble was that there was a lot of girls there and they had everyone come at once, so there was an hour long line just to get to the first tee.

So me and Whitney went to Baskin Robbins and got some ice cream. Her favorite is chocolate, so she had a big ice cream cone of chocolate ice cream. Afterwards, we went back to the golf place (we were on my motorcycle, by the way, which is a lot of fun to take out on nights like that) and played. Whitney ended up winning 71-84. She had a lot of fun.

The other picture is of all the tigers watching a movie on Netflix. Me and Heidi just discovered it in the living room one day and thought it was a funny picture.

Sometimes at school the kids get to use the computers. One day when Mason was using one he wrote a story about a dragon. Mason really likes dragons, so I’m sure he could have made his story even longer.

Anyway, he wrote the whole story himself, and sounded out all the words all alone. So I had him read the story. (The last page doesn’t show up for some reason; I’ll have to see if I can fix that.)

Mason had his first T-Ball game of the season last Saturday. He has been pretty excited about it, as opposed to last year, and did really well in the practices. The bad thing is that he didn’t get to bat last, so he didn’t hit any home runs this past game.

He did get to play first base though, which he did pretty well at, and also when he was playing near the pitcher’s mound he got a couple balls hit to him, which he fielded well and threw to first.
